About Us
Votum was established on a Spiritual Foundation that our Faith in God will sustain us in business. To better understand our history, it is essential to introduce the meaning of our company name. Votum, takes its origins from the Latin verb voveo, vovere which means “vow, promise”. Reformed Worshipers have recognized its value over time and have taken it as a vow or confession of faith at the beginning of each service with the psalm: “Our help is in the Name of the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 124:8). Our company was established under this vow, and we recognize that everything we are and everything we will be, comes from the blessings of the Lord. Our President/CEO, Vernice Atkins-Bradley, and our Vice-President/COO, Teska Dillard, started Votum Construction in 2009, right after the Great Recession (2007-2009). At that time, the US economy was going through a downturn and our Founders believe that God would Bless their efforts even when it seemed difficult and risky. As they begun to pursue business opportunity, the economy started to slowly recover from the crisis, and during that same time, Votum increased its operations. By the year 2010, Votum was Blessed to provide Design-Build services to Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, the Alma mater of Vernice. Votum was in a partnership with Turner Construction to design and construct a new building to Campus of the School of Law. Afterwards, Votum was Blessed with many other successful projects, gaining more experience, expanding its capabilities, and serving its clients, partners, and the community.
Over the years, we have built a solid reputation for our ability to consistently deliver quality work, on schedule and within budget. Our dedication to service, quality, economy and performance has earned us repeat business. We plan, anticipate, adapt, improve. We honor our commitments, and we satisfy our customers.
